Roger Waters Dresses Up as SS Officer, Compares Anne Frank to Abu Akleh

Former Pink Floyd musician Roger Waters faced condemnations this week after photos surfaced of him wearing an SS-style uniform and trivializing the Holocaust while performing at a concert in Berlin.

"Shame on Frankfurt authorities and Mercedes Benz arena in Berlin — a place from where Jews were deported by the Nazis — for providing antisemite #RogerWaters this venue for his concert with no concern/care for the Jewish community," the Simon Wiesenthal Center tweeted.

Tour for Humanity Teaches Local Students About Holocaust, Genocide

FSWC's Tour for Humanity mobile education centre is in Orillia, Ontario this week, delivering workshops that teach students about the Holocaust, antisemitism, residential schools, hate crimes that are happening today and more.

“We leave every single workshop on a positive note and an action piece,” said FSWC's Tour for Humanity Director, Daniella Lurion. “We do that so they can make positive changes in their daily life to help them learn from the past to make sure we don’t keep doing them again.”

Video Shows Quebec Students Giving Nazi Salute During Class

A video was recently posted on TikTok showing Grade 7 students at École secondaire des Chutes in Rawdon, Quebec giving the Nazi salute while playing a marching song used by the German military during the Second World War. One mother says her daughter's school failed to act.

FSWC is disturbed by this incident and has since reached out to the school to offer its educational programs on the Holocaust and antisemitism for both students and staff.

In First, Portuguese Parliament Passes Resolution Supporting Israel

On Friday, the Portuguese parliament passed a resolution in support of Israel, calling for the expansion of the Abraham Accords, increased economic and cultural cooperation between Lisbon and Jerusalem, and a solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. “This is the first time in history that such a vote has passed in Portugal,” Israeli Ambassador to Portugal Dor Shapira said.
