I am pleased to offer my warmest greetings to the Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Centre on the occasion of Passover.
Canada is very fortunate to vaunt a Jewish community that has played such a vital role in building our peaceful and prosperous pluralistic society. On Passover, those of the Jewish faith will join friends and family as they gather to commemorate and celebrate the liberation of the Jewish people and their exodus from slavery in ancient Egypt.
Passover is a celebration of freedom over oppression, resilience against tyranny, and the strength of unity. It offers all Canadians a moment to think of others around the world, who struggle for freedoms and rights.
On behalf of the Conservative Party of Canada and the Official Opposition, I would like to extend warm wishes to the Jewish community here at home and around the globe as they prepare to celebrate Passover.
Chag Pesach kasher v’sameach.
The Hon. Rona Ambrose, P.C., M.P.
