Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Center (FSWC) is a leader in providing education and training to create a more sensitive and informed workforce for identifying and combatting antisemitism. By raising awareness and increasing understanding of the impact of antisemitism, FSWC empowers professionals to stand up against hatred and discrimination.
FSWC is one of Canada’s leading human rights and social advocacy organizations. Inspired by the legacy of Holocaust survivor and educator Simon Wiesenthal, FSWC contributes to a more inclusive and respectful Canada by sharing the lessons of the Holocaust, and combatting antisemitism and other forms of hate.
Antisemitism: Then and Now
Our flagship workshop explores the historical roots and contemporary manifestations of antisemitism. It provides participants with a thorough understanding of how these prejudices have persisted and evolved over time, highlighting their impact on individuals and communities today. Through interactive discussions, case studies and practical exercises, attendees learn to recognize and respond to antisemitic incidents effectively. The workshop also emphasizes the importance of allyship, equipping participants with strategies to support and advocate for Jewish colleagues, fostering a culture of inclusivity and respect.
Learning from Survivor Testimony
Our Holocaust education program provides professionals with the unique opportunity to hear poignant accounts from Holocaust survivors or their descendants. Through their powerful stories, participants gain profound insights into the harrowing experiences of survivors, enhancing their understanding of history and its enduring lessons. This program is designed to foster empathy, promote inclusivity and inspire meaningful reflection on the consequences of hatred and intolerance in today's workplace and society.
Confronting Antisemitism: Building Bridges through Constructive Conversations
In this time of surging antisemitism, many organizations are looking to support their Jewish staff and promote a broader culture of inclusivity and respect. This workshop provides participants an opportunity to learn about the varied manifestations of contemporary antisemitism and develop new tools to build allyship through dialogue. (exclusively for Jewish professionals)
