Canadian Holocaust Survivor and Leading Holocaust Educator To Address 1200 Regina High School Students
Holocaust Survivor Max Eisen and Friends of Simon Wiesenthal (FSWC) Director of Education Melissa Mikel will address a group of 1,200 high school students in the Regina Catholic School Division tomorrow to inspire and empower them to stand up against hate and intolerance. This interactive and impactful student forum is part of a three-day Saskatchewan tour that also includes a new Tolerance Training Program taking place today in Warman, SK. The audience includes Saskatchewan police leaders and government and ministry leaders. The training is a joint project with the Saskatchewan Police College and the Saskatchewan Chiefs of Police.

FSWC Pays Respects to Victims of Van Attack in Toronto on Behalf of Jewish Community
Yesterday, on behalf of the Jewish community and Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Center, President and CEO Avi Benlolo was at the Yonge and Finch memorial to pay respects to the victims of Monday's tragic incident. “As we pay respects to the victims of this horrific incident that has affected not just the City of Toronto but all of Canada, it has been moving to see such an overwhelming amount of kindness and compassion coming from community members,” said Benlolo.
Hundreds of Germans Join Kippah-Wearing Protest Against Antisemitism
Hundreds of German Jews and non-Jews took to the streets wearing kippahs today, protesting a new wave of antisemitism in the country. The protests come a day after the head of Germany’s Central Council of Jews warned against wearing religious symbols in public for fear of attack. Last week, two young Israeli men wearing kippahs were attacked by a Syrian refugee in Berlin.
US Bill Passed to Help Holocaust Survivors Obtain Restitution and Seized Assets
The US House of Representatives unanimously passed a bill yesterday to help Holocaust survivors and families of victims to obtain restitution and seized assets. The resolution requires the State Department to report on the progress of the return of or restitution for assets that were wrongfully confiscated or transferred in Europe during the Holocaust, as well as requires a report on progress on the resolution of claims for Holocaust survivors and family members who are US citizens.
Tel Aviv Ranked 16th Greenest City in the World
According to a study by online travel specialist TravelBird, Tel Aviv is the 16th greenest city in the world. The Green Cities Index takes into account three categories of green space: natural, man-made and food production. Overall, around 23% of Tel Aviv is comprised of green space, and green space is continuing to increase across the city.

According to news reports, the Palestinian Authority (PA) and Mahmoud Abbas’ Fatah have named a children’s camp after a terrorist responsible for the murder of 125 people. Martyr Abu Jihad Camp, which 600 students will be participating in this year, is currently being housed at the PA National Security Forces facility. Abu Jihad was the founder of Fatah and deputy to Yasser Arafat, heading the PLO terror organization’s military wing and planning numerous deadly terror attacks against Israelis between the 1960s and 1980s.
