Young Canadians Lead Nation in Holocaust Skepticism, Support for Hamas: Poll

According to a new national poll commissioned by the Association for Canadian Studies, one in six Canadians between the ages of 18 and 24 believe the Holocaust was exaggerated, double that of 25- to 34-year-olds and eight times greater than those 65 and older. Over a quarter of the skeptics said they support Hamas.

Poilievre Wades into Middle East Conflict During Speech to Montreal-Area Synagogue

Speaking at a synagogue in Montreal last week, Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre discussed the Middle East conflict, his experiences in Israel and his support for the Jewish people.

"I don't know what the world will bring tomorrow. I don't know, much less 100 years from now. But I do know this, that a thousand years from now, whatever is going on, on Fridays, as the sun goes down, there will be a Shabbat in Israel," Poilievre said to a standing ovation. "Those songs will be sung. The Jewish people will go on."

Toronto Councillor Calls for 'Safety Zones' Around Places of Worship Following Rise in Antisemitism

Toronto City Councillor Brad Bradford has written to the Attorney General of Ontario asking for the creation of "safety zones" around places of worship and community social infrastructure. The letter came a week after a similar announcement by Mayor of Vaughan Steven Del Duca who said he'll be bringing forward a bylaw to protect places of worship and other institutions from hateful protests.

'It Could Be at a Synagogue': In Toronto, a Pro-Palestinian Protester Urges Children to Target Jewish Places of Worship

While protesting on the streets of Toronto, a man was filmed urging children to join demonstrations, including at synagogues. "Apparently, marching down the street in Toronto calling for synagogues to be targeted is now fair game," FSWC President and CEO Michael Levitt stated in an online post. "Worse, he’s encouraging children to join with him in this hate-fest. When will our leaders wake up and realize this is not business as usual in Canada? Certainly not for Jews!"

Most Jewish Families Applying for College Have Eliminated a School Based on Rising Antisemitism: Survey

According to a new poll from Hillel International, 64 per cent of Jewish parents say their child has eliminated at least one potential college from their application list due to rising antisemitism. Ninety-six per cent say they are worried about antisemitism on campus, and 80 per cent say they are focused on campus safety in their college search process.

Amsterdam, Atoning for Role in Delivering Jews to the Nazis, Pledges Donation and Memorials at Tram Stops

Shortly after researchers revealed that Amsterdam's public tram company, GVB, had collaborated with the Nazis to transport Dutch Jews to their deaths and sought repayment for its services after the war, the company said it will be placing memorials at three central locations. The city is also donating 100,000 Euros to local Jewish groups to divest itself of its revenue from collaborating with the Nazis.
