US Deports 95-Year-Old Ex-Nazi Camp Guard to Germany

Former Nazi camp guard Jakiw Palij, who lived in New York City for decades after lying about his wartime past to enter the US, was deported yesterday to Germany. Palij was stripped of his citizenship back in 2003, but remained in the US for years while countries such as Germany, Poland and Ukraine refused to take him.

Canada Maintains Disappointing Record Dealing with Nazi War Criminals

After the US deported its last Nazi war criminal facing deportation yesterday, it’s time for Canada to take a hard look at its failure in bringing suspected Nazi war criminals to justice. According to a recent report by Simon Wiesenthal Center’s chief Nazi hunter, Dr. Efraim Zuroff, while Canada has revoked the citizenship of 10 suspected war criminals for concealing their Nazi pasts, not a single one has been successfully deported.

Swastika Found on London School Under Investigation

Just days after hate-motivated graffiti was discovered in Mississauga, a swastika was found spray painted on a school in London, Ontario over the weekend. FSWC has reached out to the school board offering educational programs and to London Police Service, who confirmed that the swastika graffiti is being treated as a hate crime.

Today Palestinian leaders rejected US President Donald Trump’s statement at a rally in which he defended moving the US embassy to Jerusalem and said "it was a good thing to have done because we took it off the table." He went on to say that in future negotiations Israel "will have to pay a higher price" while Palestinians "will get something very good because it’s their turn next." Senior Palestinian official Ahmad Al-Tamimi said that a peace deal was impossible without recognizing East Jerusalem as the Palestinian state capital.
