Petition: Jews Deserve Amnesty Too

Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Center (FSWC) has launched a petition calling on Amnesty International Canada to end its antisemitic boycott campaign against Israel, which seeks to ban "Israeli settlement" goods from coming into Canada. Join us in educating Amnesty Canada about the antisemitic and discriminatory nature of the BDS movement and putting an end to this one-sided campaign targeting the Jewish people of Israel.

Israeli Killed in West Bank Terror Attack

FSWC condemns the vicious terror attack that occurred earlier today in the West Bank. Rabbi Itamar Ben-Gal, a 29-year-old father of four, was stabbed to death at a bus station. IDF soldiers are searching the area for the attacker - a 19-year-old Arab-Israeli citizen who lives in Jaffa - who fled the scene.

Germany Recognizes Algerian Jews as Holocaust Survivors

Germany now recognizes 25,000 Algerian Jews as Holocaust survivors for the suffering and persecution they endured while living in France under the ruling of the Nazi-allied Vichy French government. Germany is now beginning to take applications for recognition as survivors, which will make the individuals eligible for a one-time "hardship grant" and various services. Algerian Jews were the only major population remaining without the recognition from Germany.

Report: White Supremacist Propaganda on College Campuses Surged in 2017

According to a report by the Anti-Defamation League, white supremacist groups have been targeting college campuses with propaganda at an increased rate. During the fall semester of 2017, propaganda was recorded at schools 147 times - compared to the 41 incidents recorded during the same time period in 2016. Since September 2016, ADL  tracked 346 incidents on more than 200 campuses in the US.

US Hits Hezbollah with New Sanctions

The US reportedly hit several Hezbollah-linked people and businesses with sanctions in what the Trump administration is calling "the first wave" in its pressure campaign, stating that these companies and their executives are acting on behalf of Hezbollah's financier. This campaign comes as the US tries to weaken Iran's influence in the region. According to administration officials, the US estimates Iran provides Hezbollah $700 million every year.

According to new classified intelligence assessments, thousands of ISIS fighters and family members have successfully fled the US-led military campaign in Syria - despite US claims that the terror group has been largely defeated. Many fighters have gone into hiding, while others are reportedly defecting to Al Qaeda or have crossed the border to Turkey to eventually return home to European countries.
