Iranian Missiles Have Killed 24, Injured Over 800

According to newly released government data, Iran has launched 400 ballistic missiles and hundreds of UAVs at Israel since Friday, killing 24 people and wounding 804. Some 3,800 people have been evacuated from their homes.

Tourism Ministry Says It Will Help Tourists Seeking to Leave Israel Via Special Flights

Israel's Tourism Ministry has opened a digital form for tourists to register for specially coordinated departure flights from Israel once they are available. There are about 38,000 tourists currently in Israel. Tourists wishing to register are invited to fill out the form.

Holocaust Monument Vigil Calls for End to Hate Crimes

A week after the National Holocaust Monument in Ottawa was defaced with red paint, an interfaith vigil was held against antisemitism and hatred. In addition to members of the Jewish community, Indigenous and Christian community members were also in attendance. "We have to unite with our brothers and sisters who are suffering to make sure that in Canada there's no hatred ... like there was here at the monument, unfortunately," said Yvan Mathieu, auxiliary bishop with the Archdiocese of Ottawa–Cornwall.

Jewish Student Group Calls on TMU to Discipline Incoming Interim Assistant Dean Over Anti-Israel Social Posts

Jewish student organization Hillel Ontario sent an action alert earlier this month calling on Toronto Metropolitan University to investigate Maher El-Masri, a recently appointed interim assistant dean, stating he has "repeatedly engaged with and spread extreme, antisemitic, and deeply polarizing content on his social media account."

CUPE Ontario's Sponsorship of Pro-Iranian Protest Raises Eyebrows

CUPE Ontario's sponsorship of this Sunday's "Hands Off Iran" protest in Toronto, alongside a number of anti-Israel groups, has raised alarm among some of its members. "What does the war between Israel and the Iranian regime have to do with workers' rights in Ontario?" FSWC said in an online post. "It’s deeply troubling to see CUPE Ontario align itself with anti-Israel, pro-Iranian regime groups by co-sponsoring this demonstration. These voices don’t speak for the majority of Iranian Canadians, and Ontario workers deserve better than having their union co-opted by their leadership to promote their personal political agendas."

Tisdale Mayor Personally Offering $1,000 to Double Reward for Info About Vandalized Crosswalk

The Town of Tisdale is offering a $2,000 reward, including $1,000 from Mayor Roy Skoglund, to find the person responsible for vandalizing a Pride crosswalk with a swastika. Tisdale RCMP are investigating.
