A Lifetime of Bringing People Together: 'Canada's Rabbi' Reuven Bulka Dies

Tributes poured in Sunday for Rabbi Reuven Bulka — “Canada’s Rabbi” — who died Sunday morning after a battle with cancer. He was 77.

FSWC is deeply saddened by the passing of Rabbi Bulka, a well-respected leader in the Jewish community, Ottawa and beyond, who will always be remembered for his kindness and compassion. We send our sincere condolences to his loved ones and all who were personally impacted by him.

Two More Extreme Right-Wing Groups Join Proud Boys on Canada's Terror List

Canada has added two more right-wing extremist groups, an affiliate of the terror group Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant, and an American neo-Nazi to its list of terrorist entities. This comes after the government added 13 other entities to the list in February. FSWC welcomes this important step in combatting hate and extremism in the country, and continues to urge the government to list Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps as a terrorist entity as well.

Israel Summons Polish Envoy Over Holocaust Property Bill

In response to Poland's lower house of parliament passing a draft bill introducing a statute of limitations on claims for the restitution of property seized by the country's Nazi occupiers during the Second World War, Israel summoned Poland's ambassador to express "deep disappointment" over the bill, which critics say will make it harder for Jews to recover the property.

Honduras Becomes 4th Country to Open Embassy in Jerusalem

Honduras officially moved its embassy in Israel to Jerusalem on Thursday in the presence of Prime Minister Naftali Bennett and visiting Honduran President Juan Orlando Hernández. Honduras is the fourth country to open an embassy in Jerusalem, following the United States, Guatemala and Kosovo.

Israeli Foreign Minister Opens UAE Embassy: ‘The Middle East Is Our Home, We’re Here to Stay’

Israeli Foreign Minister Yair Lapid flew to the United Arab Emirates on Tuesday in a historic first official visit by an Israeli minister to the Gulf State. The visit included the inauguration of Israel's embassy in Abu Dhabi and consulate in Dubai, and it comes almost one year since the two countries, along with Bahrain, signed the Abraham Accords peace agreements.

Israelis Fight Despair While Aiding Survivors, Rescuers in Florida Calamity

Members of the Psychotrauma and Crisis Response Unit from United Hatzalah of Israel, a search-and-rescue team from the IDF's Home Front Command and the voluntary Magen Disaster search-and-rescue unit of Israel's SmartAid organization are in Surfside, Florida providing support following the collapse of a residential building that has resulted in 16 confirmed dead and dozens more missing.
