The COVID-19 pandemic has caused schools to close across the nation, inevitably forcing millions of students to stay home and practice social distancing. Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Center's team of educators are dedicated to helping parents and guardians continue the education of students throughout this difficult time. We are committed to creating projects that will keep kids reading, thinking, and growing, regardless of where they are.

Volunteers Sew Masks for Health Workers Facing Shortages
Scores of people have been answering pleas from hospitals, doctors and nurses in desparate need for face masks amid the coronavirus pandemic, including a fashion designer in South Carolina who has turned her living room into a mini sewing factory.
Tracking Every Case of COVID-19 in Canada
As of this afternoon, there have been a total of 3,290 coronavirus cases reported in Canada - 3,075 of which remain active and 187 have recovered. Thirty individuals have lost their battle with the virus. FSWC sends thoughts and prayers to those severely affected by the virus and their families.
FSWC Takes Action After Toronto Judaica Store Vandalized, Robbed
FSWC has reached out to police demanding an aggressive investigation after a Toronto Judaica store was vandalized and robbed yesterday. According to the owner of Aleph Bet Judaica, located on Bathurst Street south of the 401, the store had its windows smashed and its till emptied in the early morning hours when no employee was in the store.
Coronavirus Epidemic Brings New Wave of Antisemitic Blood Libels, According to Report
A report released this week by Israel’s Ministry of Strategic Affairs underlines the global explosion of antisemitic blood libels that have accompanied the spread of coronavirus. According to the report, the coronavirus epidemic has provided "fertile ground" for a new wave of antisemitic tropes and conspiracy theories accusing Jews of manufacturing and profiting from the global crisis.
‘You’re Spreading the Virus’: Hasidic Man Alleges Antisemitic Discrimination at New York Car Dealership
A New York car dealership has been accused of antisemitic discrimination after a Hasidic Jewish man was denied a pre-scheduled servicing appointment on the alleged grounds that he was "spreading" the coronavirus.
Eight German Neo-Nazis Jailed Over Planned Attacks
A court in Dresden, Germany has sentenced eight members of the neo-Nazi cell "Revolution Chemnitz", aged between 22 and 32, to prison terms ranging from two years and three months to five and a half years. The men were found guilty of forming a "terrorist organization" that was planning a campaign of violence.
Wiesenthal Centre to French Interior Minister: 'Your Colleague, Former Health Minister Agnès Buzyn, Is a Target of Online Antisemitism'
In a letter to French Interior Minister, Christophe Castaner, Wiesenthal Centre Director for International Relations, Dr. Shimon Samuels, expressed disgust at the online antisemitic attack against former Health Minister, Dr. Agnès Buzy. Samuels urged Castaner to "investigate and take the strongest measures against those who tarnish the good name of French medicine with the brush of hate.”

In a video published on Monday, Natan Sharansky - a former Soviet Union refusenik and dissident who was honoured with FSWC's Human Rights Award at the State of the Union dinner in November - provides five tips for quarantine based on his experience spending nine years in a Soviet gulag due to his Zionist activity.
70-Plus Faculty Members Thank Columbia University President for Battling BDS Vote
More than 70 faculty members have signed a letter thanking Columbia University President Lee Bollinger after he expressed opposition to an upcoming student referendum calling on the university to divest from companies doing business with Israel. The letter applauded Bollinger's "forceful and unequivocal declaration against bigotry and prejudice" and "condemnation of antisemitism in all its many forms."
