Report: 4.2 Million Antisemitic Tweets Posted in One Year

According to a report released today by the Anti-Defamation League, an estimated 3 million Twitter users posted or re-posted at least 4.2 million antisemitic tweets in English over a 12-month period ending January 28. A weekly average of 81,400 antisemitic tweets was counted by the group. Twitter states it has made more than 30 changes in the past 16 months to protect users from abuse and hateful images.

Polish Holocaust Law Triggers Wave of Hate Targeting Auschwitz Museum

Staff at the Auschwitz-Birkenau memorial and museum said they have been subjected to a wave of “hate, fake news and manipulations” from Polish nationalists after Poland passed its controversial Holocaust law earlier this year. Most recently, the home of a foreign guide was vandalized with xenophobic slogans and another guide was hectored by supporters of a convicted antisemite.

Palestinian Terrorists to Receive Millions from Palestinian Authority

The Palestinian Authority is scheduled to pay Omar al-Abed – the terrorist who broke into the Solomon family home last year and killed three of its members – $3,478,015 over the course of his lifetime as he serves four life sentences, according to calculations presented by Israeli Defence Minister Avigdor Lieberman. The PA budget for what the US and Israel call “pay-to-slay” payments increased this year from $347 million to $403 million.

Residents Denounce Nazi Flag-Waver in Montreal Neighbourhood

A group of residents in the Montreal neighbourhood of Park Extension marched on Saturday in protest after a man was spotted last week waving a Nazi flag on the roof of a condo building. Condo owners and locals have been putting pressure on the condo administration to make the identity of the flag-waver public.

Hundreds March in Poland in Support of Israel, Against Antisemitism

Around 500 Polish citizens marched today in the city of Wroclaw in support of Israel and against antisemitism. The city’s mayor stated the march, which was organized to honour the 70th anniversary of Israel, was also about standing up to modern antisemitism in Poland.

According to results released today, Hezbollah and its political allies have gained seats following yesterday’s elections in Lebanon, which will likely result in a unity government that includes Hezbollah. The Iran-backed terror group, along with its allies, took at least 43 of the 128 seats in parliament.

An analysis of official data from Saudi Arabia’s interior ministry revealed that the country has detained 2,305 people for more than six months without trial. More than 1,870 have been held for more than a year, 251 for more than three years, and one person has been held for more than a decade. According to Human Rights Watch, arbitrary detention has increased in recent years.
