
'You Can’t Be Openly Jewish at TMU': Jewish Students at Toronto Metropolitan University Say They're Now Isolated, Harassed
“You can’t be openly Jewish at TMU, unfortunately,” said Toronto Metropolitan University student Ethan Elharrar who, along with other Jewish students, has been left feeling fearful and isolated on campus. “You can’t openly wear your Magen David. You can’t openly wear a hostage pin because you will still get looks, even if it has nothing to do with Israeli politics.”

New Official Figures Show Record Number of Hate Crimes Reported in Toronto in 2024, with Jewish Community Most Targeted
Data released by the Toronto Police Service reveals that the city experienced a historic high in reported hate crimes last year, with the Jewish community being the leading target and the majority of incidents occurring on public streets and transit. Although the Jewish community represents less than four per cent of Toronto’s population, anti-Jewish hate crimes accounted for 40 per cent of all reported incidents.
Far-Left Antisemitism Surged 324.8% Around the World in 2024, New Report Finds
The Combat Antisemitism Movement, a coalition of hundreds of organizations that fight anti-Jewish bigotry around the world, has released its annual report of antisemitic incidents, identifying 6,326 total cases last year with the vast majority — 4,329, or 68.4 per cent — fueled by far-left ideology, a reversal from the group’s 2022 research in which the far right dominated.
Antisemitic Sign at Barstool Sports Bar Draws Outrage
Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy has expressed outrage after a Temple University student who visited his Philadelphia bar asked staff members to arrange the letters on his bottle service sign into an antisemitic message. Employees who brought out the sign have been fired and a student believed to have been involved in the incident has been suspended by the university while it conducts an investigation.

Nearly 1,850 classified documents showing how Nazi fugitives escaped to Argentina after the Second World War were finally declassified and made available to the public last Monday. Argentine President Javier Milei had ordered the declassification of the documents after a meeting with leaders from the Simon Wiesenthal Center.
