Second Jerusalem Bombing Victim Laid to Rest

The second victim of last week's terror attack in Jerusalem was laid to rest after succumbing to his wounds on Saturday. Hundreds of mourners were in attendance at the funeral of Tadasa Tashume Ben Ma'ada, an Ethiopian Israeli who leaves behind his wife and six children. May his memory be a blessing.

Lawyers Debate Whether Nazism Led to Holocaust, as Montreal Hate Speech Trial Resumes

On Friday, the trial of Gabriel Sohier Chaput - who faces one charge of wilfully promoting hatred in connection with an article he wrote for a neo-Nazi website - continued in a Quebec courtroom. His lawyer has accused prosecution of failing to define Nazism or present evidence about what happened during the Holocaust.

In an online post, FSWC stated that it is "so disturbing to see this debate over the facts of the Holocaust continue. This trial is a stark reminder of the necessity of Holocaust education for Quebecers and all Canadians. At a time of rising antisemitism, this odious debate throws fuel on the fire."

Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Is Listed Terrorist Group ‘By Association,’ Canadian Court Rules

Recently in an Ontario Superior Court ruling, a judge ruled that Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps is a "terrorist entity" under Canadian law because one of its branches, the Qods Force, was already designated as such by Canada.
FSWC is calling on the Canadian government to accept the ruling and officially list the IRGC as a terrorist entity, once and for all.

Boy, 16, ‘Wore Swastika’ During Fatal School Shootings in Brazil

A former student who killed three people and wounded 13 others in two schools in Brazil had a swastika pinned to his vest and had been planning the attacks for two years. Police have yet to reveal the motives for the shooting that occurred on Friday.

Holocaust Survivors Offered DNA Tests to Help Find Family

The New York-based Center for Jewish History is launching the DNA Reunion Project, offering DNA testing kits to Holocaust survivors for free. The advent of DNA technology has opened up a new world of possibilities in addition to the paper trails and archives that Holocaust survivors and their descendants have used to learn about family connections severed by genocide, genealogist Adina Newman said.
