Images of Hitler Affixed to Guelph, Ont. Synagogue Door

A hate crime investigation is underway after stickers bearing the image of Adolf Hitler were found on the front doors of Beth Isaiah Synagogue in Guelph, Ontario. Police said surveillance video showed a man arriving at the synagogue on Oct. 5, placing the stickers on the doors and then appearing to photograph himself with the stickers in the background.

FSWC stands in solidarity with the Jewish community in Guelph following this despicable act of hate and asks anyone who recognizes the perpetrator to contact the Guelph Police Service at jatwal@guelphpolice.ca or 519-824-1212, ext. 7436.

Diversity Minister Condemns CRTC for Not Severing Ties with Consultant Under Fire for Tweets

Canada's Minister of Housing and Diversity and Inclusion, the Hon. Ahmed Hussen, said he was "surprised and disappointed" by the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission's (CRTC) decision to not ban Laith Marouf and his Community Media Advocacy Centre (CMAC) following a widely condemned series of antisemitic tweets.

Jewish groups, including Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Center, called on the CRTC to follow the government's lead in severing ties with Marouf and CMAC, which had received some $500,000 from the Commission.
