With 95% of vote counted, Blue and White leads by one seat, deadlock persists
While 95% of the vote has been counted, political deadlock persists as both Benny Gantz's Blue and White party and Benjamin Netanyahu's Likud party continue to fall short of a Knesset majority, raising the possibility of negotiations for a unity government.

Spate of Swastika Graffiti Targets Political Candidates in BC, Quebec, New Brunswick
In letters to the candidates, FSWC expressed its deep concern regarding the incidents - including several signs belonging to Liberal and Conservative candidates defaced with swastikas in Montreal and a sign belonging to a Liberal candidate for New Brunswick Southwest defaced with swastikas - condemning the “chilling acts of vandalism in the strongest possible terms” and offering to bring its educational programs to local schools to further counter such acts.
FSWC Condemns Antisemitic Attack on Canadian Politician
FSWC condemns, in the strongest possible terms, an antisemitic Facebook attack on Liberal Candidate Michael Levitt posted by the group "Canadian Defenders for Human Rights" (CD4HR). “The antisemitism we are seeing is linked to old Nazi-styled antisemitism coupled with new politicized antisemitism targeting Israel and Jewish leaders. This is not a partisan issue. It must be condemned with one voice by all parties," said FSWC president and CEO Avi Benlolo.
FSWC Investigating Concerning Reports Surrounding Recent Monument Commemoration in Ukraine
FSWC is investigating concerning reports surrounding a recent monument commemoration in Sambir, Ukraine that was attended by the Canadian Ambassador to Ukraine and members of the Canadian Forces. According to a National Post report, the commemoration honoured members of the Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists (OUN) and the Ukrainian Insurgent Army (UPA) – two groups linked to the Nazis and the deaths of tens of thousands of Jewish and Polish people. According to the same report, after locals replaced a Star of David erected at the Jewish gravesite with three large crosses, an agreement was reached to remove the crosses and build a Jewish cemetery and Holocaust memorial at the site in exchange for a nearby memorial to the OUN and UPA members.
Tour for Humanity Is Back in Action!
Tour for Humanity began the school year on a high note this week, visiting Burlington to deliver workshops to close to 100 Halton District School Board teachers and senior staff, with a focus on how teachers in Ontario can foster an equitable and inclusive environment in their classrooms. This included discussions on our current climate of rising hatred and harsh media scrutiny, with teachers walking a fine balance trying to meet the needs of students with a diversity of experiences and abilities; strategies for dealing with problematic statements and behaviours by students and how to speak authoritatively on topics they do not have personal experience in; and the use of technology to spread hatred and the ways that young people are exposed to hateful ideologies on platforms like YouTube.

Women’s March replaces three original leaders, after antisemitism accusations, with 16 board members
The Women's March announced Monday that its co-chairs - Tamika Mallory, Bob Bland and Linda Sarsour - are leaving the organization's board after facing allegations of antisemitism. They have been replaced with a diverse group of 16 new board members.
Iran suspended from world judo federation over Israel boycott policy
The International Judo Federation announced today that Iran has been suspended from international judo competitions because of its policy of boycotting bouts with Israeli athletes. This decision comes after an Iranian athlete walked off his national team following pressure from his government to deliberately lose his semifinal bout in last month's World Championships so as not to risk facing Israel in the final.
Israeli Paralympic swimmer sets world record, wins gold
Mark Malyar won a gold medal and set a world record last week in the 400-meter freestyle swim at the World Para Swimming Allianz Championships in London, assuring him a spot in the Paralympic Games in Tokyo next summer.
