Ontario Education Ministry Launches Investigation into TDSB Field Trip Involving Anti-Israel Protest
FSWC commends the Ontario government for launching an investigation into last week’s Toronto District School Board (TDSB) field trip that resulted in students participating in an anti-Israel protest in downtown Toronto. Yesterday, following an outcry from parents of students, public officials and members of the Jewish community, Ontario Minister of Education Jill Dunlop announced that her Ministry would be pursuing an investigation into the incident, which saw students from several TDSB schools who were attending the Grassy Narrows River Run end up in a rally featuring anti-Israel chants.

He makes the argument in an essay, “Whitewash: Poland and the Jews,” recently published in The Jewish Quarterly.
What Happens When Professors Bring Anti-Israel Views into Canadian Classrooms?
While a student at Waterloo’s Wilfrid Laurier University, Zack Zaidener, FSWC's Advocacy Lead, faced an assistant professor who informed her students that class would be cut early on a Wednesday afternoon so students could attend an anti-Israel rally. The professor "mentioned that she would be offering an extra 2 percent credit for attending the rally and for writing a reflection piece on the experience,” Zaidener said.
The CJN interviewed multiple students at different universities in Canada who reported similar incidents, all of them echoing a pattern: When it comes to unqualified anti-Israel statements by faculty members, students’ complaints are not being dealt with.
