Today Tour for Humanity spent the day at a Catholic elementary school in Mississauga. This was the first of a two-day visit at the school, and today Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Center (FSWC) Educator Daniella worked with the younger grades. There were five Grades 3-5 classes on the bus today, all of whom participated in Simon’s Story. Younger students always have intriguing questions and comments, and today was no exception. When Daniella asked a Grade 4 class what they knew about Hitler, answers included: “he was a bad man” and “he was a bully to Simon (Wiesenthal)”. As always Daniella was impressed with the amount of knowledge the classes possessed, even as young as Grade 3, they knew that World War II started in 1939 and that Hitler was the leader of Germany.
