Tour for Humanity spent its second day at a middle school, working with six Grade 8 classes. There was some prior knowledge of the Holocaust and substantial knowledge of Residential Schools. Each class spent some time discussing additional questions that arose about the Holocaust, including why Hitler targeted the Jewish people and Canada’s response. Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Center (FSWC) Educator Daniella explained the history of the SS St. Louis in detail, specifically focusing on how Canada had the opportunity to help the people but actively chose not to.

A little side note - multiple students leaving the Tour for Humanity today exclaimed that “this is the coolest job ever” - which Daniella certainly appreciated!
