Education Report

< Back to News Room

Educators from across the province of Ontario have joined Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Center for Holocaust Studies (FSWC) for a brand new teacher training program on the topic of genocide. Today, participants were actively engaged in a discussion on the origins of genocide, along with an in-depth presentation on the Holocaust as a case study for genocide - which included the powerful testimony of Holocaust survivor Vera Schiff.

These incredible educators, who have travelled from Durham, Halton Catholic, Toronto, York Region and Keewatin Patricia District School Boards bring with them diverse teaching experiences and and a rich knowledge base on the topics of Holocaust, genocide and human rights.

FSWC commends these educators for valuing this important education and for striving to change our world through effective and meaningful classroom lessons. Training will continue tomorrow.
