Education Report

< Back to News Room

It was another powerful day of learning in the Tom & Anna Koffler Tolerance Training Centre at Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Center for Holocaust Studies (FSWC) as teachers took part in the final day of the Genocide Certificate course. Teachers walked away today with a firm knowledge base in genocide studies, resources and activities that they can incorporate into their classroom, and inspiration to continue on their journey through human rights education. Their commitment to this education is stronger than ever, with everyone leaving the classroom today stating that the stories learned through our two days of study will not be forgotten.

One participant stated, "I really think this education session should be a mandatory teacher professional development activity, as it has been life-changing for me in terms of what I am going to expose/educate my students to."

FSWC is looking forward to welcoming a second group of teachers next week for the Holocaust Educator Certificate Course. To register for this course please contact Melissa at mmikel@fswc.ca or 416-864-9735 x40.
