Toronto (April 15, 2026) – Friends of the Simon Wiesenthal Center (FSWC) welcomes news that long-time hate propagandist Travis Patron has been charged in connection with inflammatory antisemitic diatribes he made on his personal website. This follows criminal complaints filed last summer by both FSWC and B’nai Brith Canada which led to an RCMP investigation. Following the investigation, RCMP determined that Patron was indeed “wilfully promoting hatred against an identifiable group.”

The 35-year-old founder of the now-defunct Canadian Nationalist Party (CNP) was arrested on Friday and charged with one count of wilful promotion of hatred following consultation with the Saskatchewan Crown Prosecution office. Patron, who has a long criminal record that includes assault and previous antisemitic hate charges, is scheduled to appear in provincial court next month in Carlyle, Sask., on May 13.

“We are grateful to the police and RCMP for giving this matter the serious attention it deserves and taking the necessary actions to bring Travis Patron to account,” says Jaime Kirzner-Roberts, FSWC’s Senior Director, Policy and Advocacy. “We hope this sends a strong message to other perpetrators that hate speech and antisemitic rhetoric in Canada won’t be tolerated. All the more so when in involves repeat offenders, like Patron.”

Posted on Patron's website on April 16, 2025. Patron has a history of publishing antisemitic and other hateful posts on his personal blog, including content targeting people of colour and the 2SLGBTQIA+ community.

Patron has previously been convicted of other offences, including in 2022 for wilfully promoting hate in a video posted on the CNP’s website and social media accounts. In the video, he calls the Jewish people a “Parasitic Tribe,” and says, “what we need to do… is remove these people, once and for all, from our country.”

FSWC has long drawn attention to Patron’s repeated hate speech targeting Jews. In addition to our involvement in the current case, we filed a criminal complaint against him in 2020, for which he was later prosecuted, convicted, and sentenced to one year in jail.

Patron led the CNP into the 2019 federal election when he ran as a candidate in a rural riding in Saskatchewan where he received less than one percent of the vote.
