Today, Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Center (FSWC) marks the first day of Black History Month, celebrating Black history and culture, while also recognizing the achievements and contributions of Black Canadians.
“In a diverse country like Canada, it’s important for us to celebrate and understand the contributions and achievements of Black Canadians that helped make the country what it is today,” said FSWC President and CEO Avi Benlolo.
Through educational programs, FSWC works every day to counter racism and discrimination, using real-world heroes such as Martin Luther King Jr. to inspire students to stand up against hate and make a positive difference in their communities.
