Today, on Remembrance Day, Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Center (FSWC) honours and remembers our fallen soldiers who sacrificed their lives to protect the freedoms and human rights of Canadians.
“During the Second World War, more than one million Canadians served in the military and tens of thousands were either killed or injured fighting against Nazi tyranny,” said FSWC president and CEO Avi Benlolo. “Today we remember these brave individuals and commit to continuing our work to inspire young people to stand up for the same freedoms and human rights our fallen soldiers fought to protect.”
Each day, FSWC delivers workshops that educate young people about the Holocaust and human rights and shares the message of Never Again, while yearly events like Freedom Day give students the opportunity to celebrate freedom and be empowered to take action in making the world a better place
