The Canadian Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Center (FSWC) notes arrest of a young man from Ashkelon, Israel who was arrested today in connection with threats to Jewish Community Centres across North America. FSWC was responsive to the threats targeting at least four Jewish community centres across the country. "If the allegations are true, it would prove to be shameful and disheartening" said Avi Benlolo, President and CEO of FSWC. There have also been many incidents across North America including vandalism in cemeteries and and hateful graffiti, likely by a number of emboldened perpetrators. FSWC will continue monitoring the situation as it unfolds.
