Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Center(FSWC) would like to extend congratulations to all newly elected Members ofProvincial Parliament and to Premier-elect Doug Ford and the OntarioProgressive Conservative Party on its election victory.

At the start of the campaign, FSWCoutlined policy priorities for the new government aimed at creating a moretolerant and respectful province for all Ontarians. These areas ofconcentration include: getting tough on hate crimes through increasedmonitoring and stricter enforcement of Canadian laws; combatting online hatespeech and countering bigotry in academic circles; increasing financial supportfor Holocaust awareness and anti-racism education and lastly, standing-up forIsrael by denouncing the BDS movement and encouraging stronger economic ties betweenOntario and the Middle East’s only liberal democracy.   

FSWC looks forward to working with Queen’sPark on advancing these priorities and partnering with incoming legislators topromote tolerance in schools and communities across the province.
