Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Center forHolocaust Studies continues to monitor the situation following the decision bythe University of Lethbridge in Alberta to lodge a complaint with the AlbertaHuman Rights Commission about tenured Professor Anthony Hall. Hall is suspected of advocating antisemitic views in online articles, videos and on social media - including his beliefthat the Holocaust is a controversial issue that should be open for debate, andthat there is a Zionist link to 9-11. He was suspended in the fall of 2016after the university became aware of Hall’s online activities.

Following his suspension, and a subsequent  external assessment of Hall’ssocial media activities completed in December 2016, the university Board ofGovernors decided to proceed with the human rights complaint, finding hisstatements could be considered “hateful, contemptuous and discriminatory."  The administration is also reviewing complaints made against Hall byindividuals within the university community.
