Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Center (FSWC) strongly objects to the UN Human Rights Council’s adoption of several anti-Israel resolutions during its 37th session.

By a lopsided margin, the Geneva-based body passed five measures aimed at the Jewish State, including one to ensure “accountability and justice for all violations of international law in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, including East Jerusalem.” By comparison, the 47-member council passed two resolutions related to Syria and one each concerning Myanmar, South Sudan, North Korea and Iran.

“This transparent targeting by the UNHRC underscores its flagrant and ongoing hostility towards Israel, the Middle East’s only liberal democracy,” said FSWC President and CEO Avi Benlolo. “What the council fails to realize, however, is that Israel will innovate and succeed despite constant attempts to undermine it.”

FSWC commends U.S. Ambassador Nikki Haley for acknowledging the UNHRC’s “grossly biased” anti-Israel agenda and for calling for change at the international level.
