Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Center (FSWC) congratulates Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on being given the go-ahead to form a coalition government and officially claim his fifth term as Prime Minister of Israel.

President Reuven Rivlin made the announcement today following consultations with other parties, including right-wing and ultra-Orthodox Jewish parties, whose senior members reportedly recommended Netanyahu.

While election results revealed that Netanyahu’s Likud party and Benny Gantz’s Blue and White party both received 35 seats, Netanyahu received the backing of 65 of the 120 Knesset members – 20 more than Gantz.

“It’s now time for members of all parties to set aside their differences and campaigns and form a united Israel, focusing on the growth, security and betterment of this incredible nation,” said FSWC President and CEO Avi Benlolo.
