Toronto (April 2, 2020) - Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Center (FSWC) has been informed of offensive, antisemitic graffiti discovered yesterday at Ledbury Park Elementary and Middle School in North York.

According to a letter from the school's principal, the graffiti was spray painted on the back and side walls of the school. FSWC has been notified by Toronto Police that the graffiti included a swastika and is under investigation.

“During these times of uncertainty and needing to stand united, it’s inexplicable that some individuals choose to continue to spread offensive and hateful messages,” said FSWC President and CEO Avi Benlolo. “We urge everyone to remain vigilant and alert police when any incidents involving hate graffiti or speech occur.”

FSWC has reached out to the school offering support and programs to help combat antisemitism in the community.
