TORONTO (June 12, 2017) – FSWC condemns two recent antisemitic incidents that took place in Toronto – one on May 30 and another that was discovered yesterday.

According to several news reports, police are investigating an incident that took place inside The Morris and Sally Justein Heritage Museum, where a man allegedly vandalized two photos and left an antisemitic message in a comment book. Police are currently looking for help in identifying the individual.

For the third time in less than a month, a Toronto Jewish school has been the target of antisemitism. Yesterday morning, staff at the Eitz Chaim Patricia campus came across a swastika scratched onto asphalt in the school’s play area. Police were contacted and stated they will elevate patrol in the area.

In May, FSWC reported on two antisemitic incidents that occurred at the same campus, which included rocks being thrown at middle school students and a swastika scratched onto asphalt. Police are looking into any connection the most recent incident may have to the previous incidents.
