Shana Tova!

On behalf of Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Center's Board of Directors, Board of Governors and The Senate, we wish the community a happy and healthy New Year - Shanah Tovah. We are delighted to share with you the following statements from our political leaders marking this important occasion. FSWC is looking forward to hosting its annual Rosh Hashanah cocktail event in the House of Commons next week, to be joined by many parliamentarians, ambassadors and community leaders. Enjoy this wonderful holiday!

Sincerely, Avi Benlolo

On behalf of our family, Sophie and I wish a happy and blessed Rosh Hashanah to FSWC and all its supporters. Every day, we stand with you in your tireless work to counter anti-Semitism and racism in all its forms. The Right Honourable Justin Trudeau, P.C., M.P.
Prime Minister of Canada

I am pleased to offer my warmest greetings to the Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Center and its members on the occasion of Rosh Hashanah. The High Holy Days are a period for retrospection, observance and prayer in Jewish communities around the world.

This ancient New Year tradition is an opportunity for members of the community to reflect upon the past year, and look forward with hope and optimism to the year ahead. I am honoured to take this occasion to recognize the Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Center for its laudable work throughout the year and significant contributions to our peaceful pluralistic society.

On behalf of the Official Opposition and the Conservative Party of Canada, I offer my best wishes for a joyous and sweet Rosh Hashanah and a peaceful and prosperous New Year.

Shana tova u’metuka.

Andrew Scheer, M.P.
Leader of the Official Opposition

Rosh Hashanah is a chance to reflect on the past year & relationships that sustain us. I want to wish Ontario's Jewish community a happy, healthy and sweet new year. Shana Tova U'Metuka!

Kathleen Wynne
Premier of Ontario

I am pleased to extend my warmest greetings to my friends at the Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Center, wishing you all Shana Tova!

For more than four decades, the Simon Wiesenthal Center has been engaged in the crucial work of combatting anti-Semitism, promoting tolerance, and advancing the values of social justice and international human rights.

Here at home, Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Center for Holocaust Studies carries on that charge, educating the next generation of Canadians to learn and internalize the lessons of history, and to recognize the importance of respecting and accepting others.

FSWC should be commended not only for combatting that which divides us, but also for your positive work in helping to build and shape a more tolerant and inclusive society. From the many events and initiatives that FSWC oversees, to the role you have played in inspiring the next generation to change the world, FSWC exemplifies service to community.

Your ongoing work reflects the very best of Ontario's values - freedom, democracy, and respect for human rights, and in so doing, fosters a sense of unity and understanding among our citizens of every background.

I am pleased to celebrate the start of a new year with all of you, and wish to thank you for the many important contributions you continue to make to our province.

Shana Tova Umetukah!

Patrick Brown
Leader of the Ontario PC Party

The Ontario NDP is proud to celebrate Rosh Hashanah with the Jewish community in Ontario, and to thank Ontarians of Jewish faith for the countless contributions they have made to our province.

Ontario's New Democrats wish peace, prosperity and good health to the Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Center, its supporters, and everyone celebrating this holy day. Shanah tovah and have a 'sweet' new year.
