Swastika Found Spray Painted on Sidewalk in Front of a Vaughan Jewish School

TORONTO (November 21, 2017) – Friends of Simon WiesenthalCenter (FSWC) has learned that yesterday morning a swastika was discoveredspray painted on a sidewalk in front of the Kamin Education Centre, a Jewishday school in Vaughan.

According to a letter sent to parents of the school, anAssociated Hebrew Schools staff member found the swastika next to AtkinsonAvenue, following which administration immediately notified the York RegionalPolice.

“The individual who spray painted this antisemitic graffitiwas clearly targeting the students and staff of the school,” said FSWCPresident and CEO Avi Benlolo. “Thankfully, police quickly responded and areinvestigating this hateful incident.”

Officers contacted the City of Vaughan to have the graffitiremoved.
