Tour for Humanity spent the day at a Catholic secondary school in Hamilton working primarily with Grades 11 and 12 students. There were two law classes on the bus, one politics class and one genocide course. Due to the nature of their courses, we focused on the Global Perspectives workshop with an emphasis on the Holocaust.
The organizing teacher brought two classes onto the bus and was very impressed with the material and how antisemitism in the past was tied into current hate crimes. This Hamilton Wentworth Catholic District School Board teacher was instrumental in working with Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Center to bring our programming to their attention. She was thrilled that everything worked out and is already looking at having Tour for Humanity return next year to provide the workshops to a new group of students.
